The ESC group focuses on the interactions between land, water, climate, and nature. Their pioneering work contributes to a better understanding of the challenges and to pioneer actionable solutions.
The Institute of Urban Environment (IUE)
The Institute of Urban Environment (IUE), at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), is a pioneering and comprehensive scientific research institution specialising in urban environmental research in the interdisciplinary field of resources, environment, and advanced technologies. It has carried out much work in the fields involved in this project from the early stages and developed a low-carbon water pollutant with a biological-ecological core.
The Institute of Genetics and Development Biology (IDGB)
The Institute of Genetics and Development Biology (IDGB), at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has built three field experimental stations along latitude 38oN in Hebei province, constituting a research base for studying agro-ecology and agricultural water resources in mountainous areas, plain areas in front of the mountains, and near shore plain areas. At present, we are carrying out 67 research projects supported by national departments, local governments, CAS and several international organizations.
